Piggy Sue' (no, not Peggy Sue) is named after a pig rescued from farrowing stalls. It is a pink flush on a cream ground, young flowers when first open appear as a pink picotee. Bred by Dr. Keith Hammett, 'Primrose' was produced early in Keith's Lathyrus belinensis x L. odoratus breeding programme. It was not disseminated earlier as he was aiming for a bright buttercup yellow. Notwithstanding, it has recently been described in the UK as the nearest yet to yellow. A summer flowering modern grandiflora.
Sweet Pea Princess Elizabeth - 42120
Large and late flowering 'Spencer type' is also 'multflora' (named for the number of flowers per stem). The original 'Spencer type' was discovered in the garden of the Earl of Spencer in the 18th century, from which all modern colours were bred from. 'Princess Elizabeth' has stunning salmon pink flowers and is very floriferous.
