Our history
Founded in 1996 by John McCullough and Neville McFarlane, Egmont Seeds is a proud family-owned and 100% New Zealand-operated business. We are dedicated to providing the freshest quality flower and vegetable seeds to New Zealanders.
Our roots started in wholesale distribution, partnering with retailers, plant nurseries and councils. Over the years, our commitment to excellence has led us to expand our offering by giving home gardeners access to unique and interesting seed varieties, complementing the traditional lines available in stores.
Neville retired in 2002 but John’s unwavering passion and energy continues to inspire our company. Since 2002, John’s son, Johnny McCullough, has been learning alongside his father, developing the expertise that led to his appointment as General Manager. His energy and new ideas inspire us all.
Our purpose
Our purpose goes beyond providing seeds; it is about enriching lives through joy and vitality. We believe in the happiness that flowers can inspire and the health benefits of fresh, home-grown produce. Growing offers a sense of accomplishment and peace, and with our seeds, we aim to make this accessible to all New Zealanders.
