Orders & support

How can I get your catalogue?

Simply type the word "catalogue" in the search box and add it to your cart. You can also select the Contact us link and give us your name and postal address and we will send it to you.

Can I have free seeds?

Everyone gets at least 1 packet of free seeds. You will be prompted to choose these from the shopping cart.

My Free Seeds Have Disappeared !

Rest assured if you choose 1 or more packets of free seeds they are in your cart and will come with your order. Once you have selected them and continue through the checkout, they do change the way they look to just a single line, however we do know all of the packets you have chosen. We are currently working on a fix to make this a bit clearer.

Can I amend my order once it has been placed?

You can use the "Contact Us" link below to email us about any changes you would like to your order. If your order has already been dispatched we will let you know by return email.

How do I pay for my order?

We have a Secure Checkout. You can pay by Credit Card or Windcave Payments (Windcave Payments directs you to your own bank for you to login to your Internet Banking). You can also pay by Direct Credit, all options and information are available at the Secure Checkout.

Where else can I buy your seeds?

We only sell our home garden packets online. Our seeds are stored in controlled conditions, giving you the confidence the the viability of the seed is at its very best.

Can I post my order to you?

Yes of course, last year we found that a lot of the time the postal orders were taking 2 weeks to get to us! It takes longer for us to process manual orders, but you should still receive them within 7-8 working days.

Shipping & returns

Do you ship Overseas?

No, we only supply seeds throughout NZ. The documentation required to send seed overseas is costly, making it prohibitive. There are also varying rules and regulations from country to country.

How much will delivery cost?

We have one flat rate for handling and delivery fees. This is currently $7.00 per order. There is no extra add on for our rural customers 🙂

How long will it take to receive my order?

You should expect to receive your order within 7 working days in the busy time. Often it is much quicker than this.

Product information

Are your seeds chemically treated?

Some of our seeds are chemically treated as they are not allowed into NZ unless they have met the MPI requirements. All chemically treated seed is identified on its packaging.

Where should I store my seeds?

It's a good idea to store your seed at a constant temperature, away from hot potting sheds and glasshouses! An ideal place for storage is in the veggie compartment in your fridge if you have the room. Always fold your inner packet over, removing excess air. Popping a paperclip to keep it closed might help.

What does F1 Hybrid mean?

These varieties have simply been manually cross-pollinated with other varieties in a controlled environment (no bees or wind.) The crosses are from the same species but have different characteristics.

Can I save the seeds from F1 hybrids and grow them?

Yes, the seeds will grow, but, as with all OP (open-pollinated) seeds, the plant's height, colour, and other characteristics may vary. In contrast, F1 hybrids offer consistent results in these traits.
