The perfect plant to set off that "tropical" look to both the garden and conservatory. It can be planted in pots or outdoors. Slow growing but left to its own devices it will eventually grow to 10 metres tall. Prefers a very mild climate, it can take a light frost, and prefers a cooler summer. Nikau can take up to 15 years to form a trunk. For outdoor planting try to find a wind free spot, since the leaves can get quite windblown and tatty.
