Lagurus ovatus (Bunny Tails)
Bunny Tails are one of my favourites! It was the highlight of my childhood trips to the beach to pick as many of these as I could (to be honest I still pick them when I see them... old habits die hard!) I'm so pleased that we are able to supply this seed, now everyone can grow these delightful, fluffy, heart-warming plants without having to find a beach. Perfect for that soft, delicate border you may want. Best harvested for floral arrangements just before seed heads shed their pollen and are still light-green in colour. Seed heads harvested once they have shed pollen tend to shatter. We recommend you harvest the whole plant rather than individual stems, therefore sow multiple times throughout the season. Prefers hot and dry conditions.
Gypsophila Snowflake
A perennial gypsophila that bears masses of dainty snow-white coloured flowers. Please note that not every flower will be double, almost 50% will be single but still equally as nice and useful. Flowers can be used fresh or dried. Preferred by florists. Requires full sun and well-drained soil, will benefit from the odd side-dressing of dolomite lime. If you like to have fresh flowers constantly we suggest you sow new batches of Snowflake every 3-4 weeks for a constant supply through the summer.
Celosia Flamingo Feather
An interesting "wheat-type" celosia with soft purpley-pink feathery blooms, fading to blush as the bloom matures. Strongly branched in the upper part of the stems. These delicate plumes are fantastic in both the garden and in the vase. For similar flowers consider Ptilotis or Lagurus (Bunny Tails) they all have delicate, graceful flowers.
Amaranthus Coral Fountain
A spectatular centre piece on the table or in any arrangement. Lovely dusky-pink flower heads cascade perfectly. Coral Fountain blooms can also be used in dried floral arrangements. You'll need to support this item while growing to avoid the blooms getting damaged in inclement weather. Plants dislike high temperatures so some degree of shade is recommended in summer.
