Eggplant Patio Baby F1 Hybrid - 56943

Cute, glossy baby eggplants. Fruit size is approx 5-8cm. Very early to harvest, Patio Baby continues to produce fruit all season. Not only great to eat, but they are also an attractive plant. Best grown in pots / baskets / planters.

Eggplant Ping Tung - 56945

This variety originated in the town of Ping Tung in Taiwan, hence its name. Hardy, disease resistant plants bear heavy yields of sweet and tender fruits - sometimes as many as twenty per plant. The fruits are light purple, length varies from 30-45cm long and they are only 3cm in diameter. Best to stake the bushy plants for the straightest fruits.

Eggplant Rabi Long Green - 56875

Produces tender, long green, shiny fruit that weigh approximately 80-100 grams. Mild, sweet tasting.

Eggplant Shikou - 56880

A slender Asian type eggplant with dark-purple glossy fruit, measures approximately 15-20cm in length and 2-3cm wide. Shikou has tender, thin skins and few seeds making it ideal for stir-fry and grilling.

Eggplant Thai Oval - 56885

As the name suggest this plant produces oval fruit that is green with white stripes. These can be eaten raw in Thai salads, but are often cooked with garlic or basil in butter or chopped into a curry.

Endive Green Curled Ruffec - 56950

Very similar to a fancy lettuce only the thick, frilled, buttery leaves are tender, yet crisp and have a distinctive, if not slightly bitter flavour. Excellent for salads or mesclun blends. The inner leaves blanch to a creamy white. Great texture for warm chicken or feta salads.

Gherkin Eureka F1 Hybrid - 57100

Great for bottling, these dark green spined gherkins are disease resistant. Earlier we thought this variety produced all "female" flowers, however this information is incorrect, sorry for any confusion. Eureka is monoecious, this means it can have female and male flowers on the same plant.

Gourd Bitter Daphne (Balsam Pear) - 57111

This F1 Hybrid, smooth ridged skin variety of bitter gourd can be harvested just 66 days after sowing. Gourds are members of the cucumber, melon and pumpkin family. They like it warm and sheltered from wind.

Gourd Bitter Poonam - 57107

An unusual looking fruit with medium “spines" Plant grows like a vine and requires staking. Fruit is Light green in colour and grows up to 20-25cm in length. Bitter Gourd is rich in fibre and low in glycemic index, which means it helps in lowering blood sugar levels!

Gourd Bottle - 57108

Plant grows like a vine and requires staking. It has long, green cylindrical fruit that grow around 30-40cm in length. The flavour is mild; similar to summer squash and cucumber. “Lauki” is made from Bottle Gourd - a light tomato based curry with “Koftas". Bottle Gourd is used frequently in Indian cuisine.

Gourd Luffa Sponge Neeta - 57110

Plant grows like a vine and requires staking. This edible version of Snake Gourd - Casper has fruit that weighs approximately 100-150 grams and has a whitish “ghost” appearance to it. The whole fruit is eaten as a vegetable when young. When mature the soft red tomato like pulp can be used in cooking as a tomato substitute.

Kale Red Russian - 57120

Attractive blue-green leaves with reddish veining make Red Russian the perfect foil for any salad. Red Russian is also any chefs dream in a stir-fry, or even steamed with other vegetables. The deeply lobed and ruffled leaves are extremely tender to eat and can be picked once the plant is 30cm tall. Pick the lower, older leaves to ensure the plant continues producing. Leaves should be ready for picking after 7 weeks.

Kohl Rabi Green Duke F1 Hybrid - 57200

The Kohlrabi bulb tastes like a mild, sweet turnip. Like the turnip, both its bulb-like stem and its greens are edible. Kohlrabi is best steamed, but can also be added to soups and stews or stir-fried. Smooth, uniform and round with slender petioles.

The flavour of Purple Vienna is best described as a mild sweet cabbage taste, it's purple skin and crisp white flesh make it The Kohlrabi variety. Excellent raw in dips and grated for salads can be cooked and stir fried.

Okra Burgundy - 58975

Attractive and edible ! Attractive ornamental plants 1 to 1.5 metres tall. Plants produce high numbers of tender 15-20cm pods. There's a pretty contrast between the plant's green leaves against the burgundy stems, branches, leaf ribs and fruits along with a pretty display of yellow-cream flowers. For optimal texture and flavour, harvest often when the pods are young about 8cm long, usually around 55-70 days.

Okra Emerald Green - 58980

One of those vegetables which people either love or hate. The slender, tapering pods are emerald green and grow between 7cm - 20cm long. They contain small, round white seeds and have a slightly furry exterior with distinctive ridges that run from the stalk to the tip. Pods are best eaten in the early stages (around 7cm). Okra is related to the Hibiscus family and the plant can grow up to 200cm!

Okra Gunjan F1 Hybrid - 58985

A vigourous, erect hybrid. Fruit is dark green, thin, tender and spineless, growing approximately 12-14cm in length. Invaluable for adding depth and interest to soups and casseroles. Plants love the heat and can withstand a dry spell but they still require regular watering (around 2cm of water per week.) Although pods grow up to 14cm, they are commonly picked at around 7-8cm. Cut pods regularly to promote a greater yield.
